business photography

for regional businesses

Hey, I’m Karen. I’m a photographer, storyteller, oversharing, awkward human!

I’m based in Albury and specialise in business and branding photos with a little bit of heart and soul. I love meeting and capturing the people behind the business and showing what our perfectly imperfect souls can create. I want to bring your business to life and let the world see what you have to offer.

What I Do:

I work with local small to medium businesses, tourism operators, creatives, anyone, to create natural images that really show off what you do. I’ll hike a mountain for you, pop into your cellar door, walk down the street with you, get up a sunrise or stay after dark. Whatever it takes to tell the stories that you need told.

Why Work With Me?

I’m all about capturing the real, raw and honest. I have very little fluff in what I do and I don’t tend to muck around to get the shot. I know you’re busy, and time is precious. If you’re like me, you’ve probably got far too many things on your to-do list, a million behind the scenes admin stuff piling up. Kids, pets, in-laws and aging parents. All the life admin tasks! So the thought of wasting hours getting some photos done can sometimes feel just too much. I try to make these sessions fun and relaxed and I work as efficiently as I can to get you back to what you need to do!

Frequently asked questions

  • This depends on a few things: what time of year you’re thinking about, how many hours the shoot will take, is it one day or multiple days? I suggest getting in contact the earlier the better. Sometimes I might be able to fit you in next week, sometimes I might not have availability for a month or two. Always ask. I will give you a list of dates that I’m available and we can go from there!

  • That’s fine. I am more than happy to jump on a call with you, and we can discuss what you’re wanting and how long I think it might take. I understand that time is money and money is hard fought for, so I always try to be as efficient as possible and I’m not going to book you in for 8 hours if I think we can do it in 4.

  • All my packages have 3 options (except my full day package in which you get all the photos). I always suggest starting with the minimum package and waiting until you see the full gallery.

During the shoot I’m taking ALL the photos! I will cull them, keep out the best ones, edit those and upload them to an online gallery.

Once you get your gallery delivered via email, you can view the whole lot. From there you can stick with the initial package you bought, download and go on your merry way. Otherwise, if you decide you need more you can purchase individual images, or upgrade packages.

  • I allow 4 weeks to have your images returned to you. In honesty, I try to get them done within 2-3 weeks.  I do have a rush edit bundle you can add on if you really MUST have your photos by a specific time frame earlier than that (eg you’ve got a deadline). You can select 2 options: to have them guaranteed within a week, or guaranteed within 2 weeks. Please note, I will not have them back to you within 24 hours. And yes, some people do ask!!

  • It all depends on what your business is? Are you an artist wanting some studio portraits? Then nope, just you. Are you a service-based business? Café or massage therapist? Then yep, I do suggest you organise some people to be in your photos. In the biz we call them ‘talent’! I can let you know how to go about this when you book.

  • Sure. A mood board is always helpful.

Will I copy exactly a photo you’ve screen shot from somewhere else? Nope, sorry.

But it definitely can be super handy to show me what you’ve got in mind. In my questionnaire I send out before your shoot I have a section for you to add a shot list and/or some inspiration/mood board of what you’re after.

  • If you’ve booked or after a 2 hour shoot to grab some portraits and a couple of hands on photos, then no. But if you’re after a half or full day and have 40 different shots you’re wanting, in different locations with different people, then it can be a good idea. It gives us something to work to, it can help us stay on track and on time.

If you’re not sure, I can have a chat and help work out what you need. I also have a questionnaire I can send out which has a few prompts and things to think about, which can be included into a shot list.

  • Yes, yes I do!

I do have travel fees which can be bundled in to your package. Happy to discuss all travel options!

  • You’re not alone. Booking a photo shoot can feel like a mammoth task, and if you’ve never had photos done before, can feel VERY daunting.

I get it. If it helps, I’ve had 10 years of experience photographing people, and over 5 years of doing shoots for businesses – from self employed artists through to corporate shoots in Melbourne. From wineries to 26km mountain hikes! I’ve stepped many people through what they might need to consider. You’re not alone on this. I’m here with you.

Before you book I will suggest we have a chat and we can discuss all your concerns. I’ve also created a simple questionnaire I can add on to your booking form, which will help guide you and give you prompts to think about. This will help you with all the things you might not have thought about!
